The hull is washed down and inspected, existing growth and any flaking or failed coating is removed, and the surface is prepared so the new antifoul bonds properly. Any bare or damaged areas are treated before coating, and antifoul is then applied evenly across the hull below the waterline, including around fittings and running gear.
