# Propspeed Propeller Coating ## Propspeed Propeller Coating Propspeed is a specialised foul-release coating applied to [propellers](https://www.sawleysautoandmarine.com.au/collections/volvo-penta-propellers), sterndrives, shafts and other underwater metal, designed to stop marine growth from attaching in the first place rather than simply poisoning it off like traditional antifoul. The result is a smoother running surface and running gear that's easier to keep clean between haul-outs. Any existing coating, corrosion or growth is removed and the metal surface is prepared so the coating bonds properly, since surface preparation is what determines how well the coating performs. We follow the same preparation approach on hulls for our [hull sealing and painting](https://www.sawleysautoandmarine.com.au/pages/hull-sealing-painting) work.
