Genuine BRP Multipurpose Thermostat and Gearcase O-Ring - Part Number: 0301917

  

A genuine BRP O-ring used in several sealing locations across Evinrude and Johnson outboards, including thermostat covers, small-engine gearcase bearing housings, pivot tubes and selected oil-system fittings.

  

On later high-horsepower E-TEC engines it is primarily used around the thermostat cover. On earlier small outboards it may be installed in the lower-unit bearing housing or midsection pivot-tube assembly.

🔌 Function

  

The O-ring seals the clearance between two mating components. Depending on its installation, it prevents cooling-water leakage, gear-lubricant leakage, oil leakage or water entry.
