A genuine BRP O-ring used to seal the shift rod where it passes through the shift-rod cover or housing in selected Evinrude and Johnson lower units.

  

The seal prevents gear lubricant leaking from the shift-rod opening and blocks water from entering the lower-unit housing around the moving rod.
