A genuine BRP moulded rubber seal used beneath the thermostat cover on selected 5HP to 15HP two-cylinder outboards.

  

The seal closes the thermostat-cover joint and directs cooling water through the thermostat and cylinder-head passages without external leakage or uncontrolled bypass.

🔌 Function

  

The seal prevents cooling water from escaping around the thermostat cover and stops water from bypassing the thermostat.

  

Common signs of failure:

• Engine overheats because the seal is distorted

• Seal becomes hard, cracked, swollen or flattened
