## 🔌 Function

The bowl attaches beneath the fuel filter/water separator and provides a collection chamber where water and sediment separated from the fuel settle out. Accumulated water is periodically drained off so that only clean, water-free fuel continues to the injection system.

## 🛠️ Service Notes

-   Renew the O-rings and seals that belong with the bowl whenever it is disturbed, and check each one is seated in its groove before the bowl is drawn up
-   Wet the seals with clean fuel or a smear of oil before assembly so they slide into place rather than rolling or pinching
-   Tighten the bowl only as the procedure for your engine describes, by hand where specified — over-tightening distorts and cracks a bowl, and a cracked bowl puts fuel into the bilge
-   Check the drain tap or plug is closed and sealing, then fill and bleed the fuel system working from the tank end forward
-   Check the bowl joint for weeping with the system pressurised and the engine running, and drain off accumulated water at the intervals in your engine's service schedule
