## 🔧 Product Description

A genuine Volvo Penta oil-filter housing adapter used on a wide range of marine and industrial diesel engines. The threaded or flanged adapter joins the oil-filter housing to a pipe elbow, remote-filter hose or lubrication connection while sealing with the specified gasket or O-ring. Two or four adapters can be used depending on the filter-housing arrangement. It appears in single-filter, twin-filter, bypass-filter and remote-filter systems across D4, D6, D11, D13, D16 and modern industrial engine families.

## 🔌 Function

The adapter forms a sealed connecting point in the engine's lubricating oil circuit, joining oil system components or lines to the engine at the correct port and orientation. It maintains oil flow and system pressure across that joint.

## 🛠️ Service Notes

-   Check the adapter against both of the parts it has to join before fitting — adapters are specific to an engine and its variant, and one that is close but not correct will not seat or seal properly
-   Clean and inspect both mating faces or connector ends; grit, old sealant or corrosion on one side is the usual reason an adapted joint leaks or works intermittently
-   Renew any O-ring, gasket or sealing washer belonging to the joint rather than reusing the old one, and lubricate rubber seals lightly so they slide into place instead of rolling or nipping
-   Tighten threaded adapters to the figure given in the workshop manual for that connection; many go into aluminium or onto a soft seat and will distort if pulled up hard
-   Where the adapter is a workshop tool, check it for thread wear and damage before use and never modify it to make something fit
