# 1140074 Fork | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

A genuine Volvo Penta clevis-style fork used to connect standard 333-series and Xact mechanical control cables to PC-870 and PC-871 control systems. An additional fork is required for each applicable cable when creating a correctly configured flybridge or dual-station installation.

## 🚤 Compatibility

- **HP Range:** Approximately 9-300 HP
- **Year Range:** Approximately 1980s - 2010s

## ⚙️ Key Features

- Genuine Volvo Penta control-cable connection fork
- Correct part number 1140074
- Suits standard 333 and Xact mechanical control cables
- Used with PC-870 and PC-871 control systems
- Provides the correct pivot geometry for dual-station cable connection
- Engine type: Volvo Penta mechanically controlled petrol or diesel marine engine

## 🔌 Function

The fork forms the pinned joint between the control cable and lever mechanism, allowing cable push-pull movement while accommodating the lever's arc.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Clevis hole becomes oval or worn
- Fork bends or cracks
- Retaining pin becomes loose
- Excessive control-lever free play develops
- Cable does not remain aligned through its travel

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Suits standard 333 and Xact cables into PC-870/871 controls — 1140075 is the equivalent fork for the older 443 cable, so check which cable is fitted before ordering
- On a flybridge or dual-station installation, one additional fork is needed for each extra cable run, not just one for the whole helm
