# 1140075 Fork | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

A genuine Volvo Penta connection fork used with legacy 443-series mechanical control cables in PC-870, PC-871 and associated dual-station control installations. The fork provides the correct cable-end pivot and is selected in place of 1140074 when the older 443 cable system is retained.

## 🚤 Compatibility

- **HP Range:** Approximately 9-300 HP
- **Year Range:** Approximately 1970s - 2000s

## ⚙️ Key Features

- Genuine Volvo Penta legacy control-cable fork
- Correct part number 1140075
- Designed for 443-series throttle and shift cables
- Used in PC-870 / PC-871 and dual-station arrangements
- Engine type: Volvo Penta mechanically controlled petrol or diesel marine engine

## 🔌 Function

The fork connects the 443 cable end to the control lever or inter-station linkage and allows the pinned joint to articulate through the lever stroke.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Worn pin bore creates lever free play
- Fork is bent or cracked
- Cable travel becomes incomplete
- Retaining hardware loosens
- Gear or throttle selection becomes inconsistent

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- This fork is for the older 443 cable — where the control uses a 333 or Xact cable instead, fork 1140074 is the correct part, not this one
- Check the pin and bush the fork pivots on for matching wear before fitting; a worn pin will oval a new fork quickly
