-   Refit the securing bracket or clip in its original position so the pipe cannot flex or rub against surrounding components
-   Check the filler cap and its seal at the same time — a filler that does not seal at the top lets oil mist and crankcase fumes into the engine space
-   Run the engine afterwards and check the joint at the block or cover for weeping once it is warm
