- Volvo Penta TAD721VE

- **Engine Family:** TAD
- **HP Range:** Approximately 300 HP

## ⚙️ Key Features

- 945 mm long
- 0.622 kg
- For the crankcase-ventilation and inlet-manifold assembly
- Listed for 2 applications on TAD series engines
- The longest and heaviest of the breather pipes here, against 0.560 kg for 20498075 and 0.208 kg for 20464428
- L=945mm (Volvo assembly listing)

## 🔌 Function

Routes crankcase vapour from the ventilation system to the inlet manifold, keeping the crankcase vented over the full length of the run.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Oil mist escaping along the breather run
- Oil forced out past seals or the dipstick as crankcase pressure rises
- Oily deposits gathering on the manifold and surrounding surfaces
- Pipe found split, chafed at a support or blocked with sludge on strip-down

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- At 945 mm this is a long run - check it is properly clipped and clear of hot surfaces, since chafing at a support is the usual failure
- Confirm the pipe is clear before fitting; a blocked breather pushes oil past seals that are otherwise sound
