## 🛠️ Service Notes

-   Fit a new lock brace rather than reusing the old one — a locking device that has already been formed or clamped into place has lost its grip and may not hold a second time
-   Tighten the fastener to the torque given in the workshop manual for your engine first, then secure the lock brace against it; the locking device is never what pulls the joint up
-   Check the brace engages fully and sits flat against its abutment, with nothing trapped underneath and no gap that would let the fastener move
-   Inspect the brace and its seating for cracks, corrosion and distortion, and confirm the fastener it secures is the correct one for that joint
-   Check the locking arrangement whenever the assembly is opened up, and again after the first period of running following any work
