# 21267757 Grating | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta protective fan grating used on radiator-cooled TAD5 and TAD7 generating-set engines. It forms part of the cooling-package guarding around the fan and shroud, preventing accidental access to rotating blades while preserving the designed airflow path through the radiator.

## 🚤 Compatibility

Typically suits:

- Volvo Penta TD520GE

- **Engine Family:** TD

## ⚙️ Key Features

- Genuine Volvo Penta fan-protection grating
- Used with the radiator fan and shroud assembly
- Protects personnel from rotating fan blades
- Maintains cooling-air access without obstructing the core
- Inspect mounting points and fan clearance before operation
- Engine type: Volvo Penta TAD5 or TAD7 inline-six industrial generating-set diesel

## 🔌 Function

Guards the rotating cooling fan while allowing sufficient air to pass through the radiator and charge-air cooler.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Cracked, bent or missing guard sections
- Contact marks showing insufficient clearance to the fan or rotating component
- Loose or corroded mounting hardware
- Reduced cooling airflow caused by deformation or blockage
- Unsafe access to moving components

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- A grating screens and protects the opening behind it — refit it whenever the item behind it has been serviced, and do not run the installation with it removed
- Keep the openings clear: a blocked or partly blocked grating restricts flow, and clearing debris off it is routine maintenance rather than a repair
- Fit using its own fasteners together with any spacers, seals or trim, and do not overtighten — these are light pressings or mouldings that crack and distort easily
- Renew a grating that is cracked, distorted or has broken fixing points rather than patching it, since a loose one will vibrate and wear against its frame
