-   Fit new gaskets, seals or sealing washers on the suction pipe joints, as an air leak on the suction side loses oil pressure even with a sound pump
-   Set the strainer at the position and orientation the manual specifies, clear of the sump floor and any baffle plate
-   Prime the system and confirm oil pressure builds properly before putting any load on the engine
