# 21453900 Module | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

A genuine replacement electronic module for the assigned Volvo Penta engine or propulsion-control system.

## ⚙️ Key Features

- Marine-grade electronic enclosure
- OEM connector and pin configuration
- Replaces earlier module 3594195
- Supports engine-control and diagnostic functions
- Requires application-correct software

## 🔌 Function

The module processes sensor and control inputs and commands the assigned engine or propulsion-system outputs.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- No communication with diagnostic equipment
- Engine or system fails to operate
- Internal water damage
- Burnt or corroded connector pins
- Incorrect operation after installing an unprogrammed module

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Isolate the batteries before unplugging or fitting any module, and never disconnect one with the ignition on or the engine running
- Before condemning a module, check its supply, its earth and the harness continuity; a poor earth or a chafed lead gives exactly the same symptoms as a dead unit
- Handle the module by its casing, keep the connector pins clean and dry, and push connectors home squarely until the lock engages — bent or corroded pins cause more trouble than the modules themselves
- Mount it in the original position and orientation using the original brackets or clips, so it stays clear of heat, moving parts and standing water
- Many engine and control modules have to be configured or programmed to your particular engine before they will work correctly, so allow for a Volvo Penta dealer with the correct diagnostic equipment where that applies
