## 🚤 Compatibility

- Volvo Penta TAD760VE

- **Engine Family:** TAD

## ⚙️ Key Features

- Genuine Volvo Penta nut retainer
- Four normally required per applicable exhaust-brake assembly
- Prevents the flange fastener from loosening
- Designed for high-temperature exhaust vibration
- Separately shaped from retainer 21480060
- Engine type: Six-cylinder turbocharged industrial diesel
- 4 used per assembly

## 🔌 Function

Locks the exhaust-brake flange fastener and helps prevent loosening under heat and vibration.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Retainer is bent or missing
- Flange fastener repeatedly loosens
- Exhaust leakage develops
- Retainer no longer engages the nut correctly
- Corrosion or heat damage

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Fit the retainer the right way round so the captive nut sits square to its hole and the fastener enters without cross-threading
- Renew retainers that are corroded or have lost their spring tension rather than reusing them; one that no longer grips lets the nut spin or drop out of reach behind a panel
- Clean the panel or flange and its hole before fitting, and treat corrosion at the same time — this is usually what killed the original
- Match the retainer to the fastener thread and size, and remember the retainer only locates and holds the nut, so do not rely on it to take a heavy tightening load
