## 🔌 Function

The baffle redirects oil splash away from the breather outlet and helps separate oil droplets from crankcase vapour before the vapour enters the ventilation system.

## 🛠️ Service Notes

-   A baffle controls the path of a flow, so note its orientation before removal and fit the replacement the same way round
-   Check the baffle and its fixings for cracking, fatigue and corrosion; the vibration and flow that broke the old one will find a loose new one too
-   Make sure the sealing or contact faces are clean and any gasket or seal is renewed, so flow cannot simply bypass the baffle
-   Fit and secure every fixing, and check nothing has been left loose inside the housing — a detached baffle can do serious damage downstream
-   Tighten to the figures in the workshop manual for your engine and recheck the fixings after the first period in service
