# 21697388 Heat Shield | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

Formed heat shield used around the EGR cooler, inlet manifold and exhaust components on the Volvo Penta TAD752GE. It limits radiant heat transfer to wiring, hoses and nearby engine equipment.

## 🚤 Compatibility

Typically suits:

- Volvo Penta TAD752GE
- Volvo Penta TAD753GE
- Volvo Penta TAD754GE

- **Engine Family:** TAD

## ⚙️ Key Features

- 0.883 kg
- Formed heat shield for the EGR cooler, inlet manifold and exhaust area
- Listed for 3 applications on TAD series engines

## 🔌 Function

Screens the hot EGR cooler and exhaust components so less radiant heat reaches the wiring, hoses and equipment around them.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Hoses or harness near the EGR cooler hardened, cracked or discoloured
- Rattle or buzz from the manifold area at certain engine speeds
- Engine space running hotter than it used to
- Shield found cracked round its fixing holes, or bowed into contact with the components it covers

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Fit every standoff and fixing so the shield keeps its air gap - a shield resting on the cooler conducts heat instead of blocking it
- Check the hoses and wiring behind the shield while it is off, as heat damage will already have begun if it has been loose
