## 🛠️ Service Notes

-   Clean both mating faces down to bare metal and remove every trace of the old gasket without scoring or dishing the surface — a scraped or filed sealing face will not seal reliably again
-   Fit new gaskets, seals and O-rings, and use only the sealant the manual specifies and only where it specifies it; surplus sealant squeezes into the coolant passages and blocks them
-   Check that the internal passages and threaded ports of the new body are clear and undamaged before it goes on, and transfer sensors, plugs and fittings across with new seals
-   Tighten the fasteners evenly, in the sequence and to the figures in the workshop manual for your engine — these are light castings and will distort or crack if pulled down unevenly
-   Refill and bleed the cooling system, then check for leaks with the engine warm and the system up to pressure
