Seals an oil-carrying joint in the lubricating system, sitting between the two faces or in the groove of the union so the oil circuit holds its pressure and the joint stays dry.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

-   Oil weeping or dripping at the union, leaving a wet trail down the engine
-   Oil level dropping between services with no visible smoke
-   A joint that seeps under load or when hot but looks dry cold
-   On strip the ring is found squashed flat, split or nipped where it was pinched on assembly
-   Oil pressure slightly down and the gauge unsteady once warmed through

## 🛠️ Service Notes

-   This ring replaces both 1547255 and 22322741, so an order against either of the earlier numbers is filled by this one
-   It is a different size from sealing ring 21940610 in the same system - order by part number rather than by eye
-   Clean and inspect the sealing face before fitting, and lightly oil the new ring so it seats without twisting
