-   Renew the gaskets and the front seal whenever the casing is off, and clean both faces properly before assembly
-   Fit the casing using its dowels or alignment tool so the seal runs true on the crankshaft, and pull the fasteners down evenly
-   Check the seal running surface on the shaft for a wear groove before blaming the casing for a leak
