# 22037584 Tool | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

Threaded hook or adapter used with a slide hammer to extract the rear crankshaft oil seal from the rear cover while avoiding scratches to the crankshaft and seal bore.

## ⚙️ Key Features

- Rear-main-seal extraction adapter
- Used with a compatible slide hammer
- Applies axial pulling force
- Avoids prying against the rear cover
- Small procedure-specific adapter
- Engine type: Volvo Penta GM-based marine petrol V6 and V8

## 🔌 Function

Engages the rear main seal and transfers slide-hammer force so the seal is removed without damaging the crankshaft or aluminium rear cover.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Damaged threads, pins or retaining features
- Corrosion affecting fit or dimensional accuracy
- Evidence of overloading or impact damage
- Missing adapters or incomplete tool assembly

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Special tools are matched to particular engine and drive families — check the tool against the procedure in the workshop manual for your engine before ordering, as an almost-right tool will damage what it touches
- Use the tool only for the operation it was designed for, and do not add bars, extensions or leverage to make it reach further or pull harder than intended
- Inspect before every use and retire anything cracked, bent, spread at the jaws or worn in the threads rather than persevering with it
- Clean, dry and lightly oil the tool after use and store it where the working faces cannot be knocked out of true
