-   The pump bolts to the engine against a gasket and a separate drive pulley mounts on it — clean the mating face thoroughly and always fit a new gasket rather than reusing the old one.
-   Refit the pulley squarely and check belt alignment, setting tension to the figure given in the workshop manual for your engine.
-   Refill with the specified coolant, bleed the system, run up to temperature, then check the pump joint and weep hole for leaks and re-check the level cold.
