# 22449318 Engine Heater | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta 115 V, 1500 W engine heater, weighing 0.896 kg and listed for nine applications across TAD and TWD series engines. The voltage and wattage are the critical details: a 230 V heater is a different part, and connecting a 115 V unit to the wrong supply will damage it.

## ⚙️ Key Features

- 115 V, 1500 W
- 0.896 kg
- Listed for nine applications across TAD and TWD series engines
- A 230 V heater is a different part

## 🔌 Function

Warms the engine's coolant while the engine is stopped, so it turns over and starts more readily and reaches operating temperature sooner in cold conditions.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Engine still cold at start despite the heater being powered
- Heater tripping its breaker or residual current device
- Coolant weeping at the heater's seal or its boss in the block
- Element scaled, furred or burnt out on inspection
- Cable, plug or gland cracked, chafed or heat-marked

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Confirm the supply is 115 V before connecting, as a 115 V element on a 230 V supply will be destroyed
- Never energise the heater with the coolant drained, because the element burns out dry within seconds
- Isolate the supply and drain the coolant to below the heater before removal
