-   Tighten the unions in the order and to the figures given in the workshop manual for your engine, and do not cure a weeping union by pulling it up tighter — renew the pipe
-   Bleed the system as the manual directs and check for leaks with the engine running before closing the space up, keeping clear of any high-pressure spray
