## 🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta flywheel from the Engine group, weighing 49.67 kg and listed for one TAD series engine application. It supersedes part number 22084229. Flywheel balance and friction face condition affect both clutch operation and engine smoothness.

## 🚤 Compatibility

Typically suits:

- Volvo Penta TAD580-83VE

- **Engine Family:** TAD

## ⚙️ Key Features

- Flywheel from the Engine group
- 49.67 kg
- Supersedes 22084229
- Listed for one TAD series engine application

## 🔌 Function

Stores rotational energy to smooth the firing pulses, carries the ring gear for starting, and provides the friction or drive face at the back of the engine.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Vibration or a rough, uneven idle that was not there before
- Grinding or a whirring noise when the starter engages
- Ring gear teeth chipped, worn hooked or missing in one section
- Friction face scored, heat-checked, blued or cracked
- Bolt holes elongated or the mounting face fretted, found on strip-down

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Check the ring gear and the friction face together - a flywheel is usually condemned for one or the other, not both
- Renew the flywheel bolts and tighten to the specified figure and sequence, as these are highly loaded fasteners
- At nearly 50 kg this needs lifting support and a planned route out of the engine space
