## 🔌 Function

Carries fuel between two points in the fuel system, holding pressure and keeping the circuit sealed against air being drawn in.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Smell of diesel in the engine space
- Wet or dust-caked film along the pipe or at a union
- Hard starting or rough running from air drawn in through a suction-side joint
- Pipe found chafed, kinked or corroded
- Union faces scored, or the sealing washers flattened hard

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Renew the sealing washers at every union disturbed and bleed the system afterwards
- A fuel leak in the engine space is a fire risk - do not defer it
