## ⚙️ Key Features

- Electronic unit from the Ignition and Control Systems group
- 1.007 kg
- Listed for 13 applications across D series engines, DPH and DPI drives and VMM units

## 🔌 Function

Reads the sensors on its part of the system, works out what the actuators should be doing and drives them, while reporting status and faults onto the vessel's control network.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Warning lamps or a system that will not come alive at the helm
- Communication faults logged against the unit by other modules
- Functions dropping out and returning as the boat moves or warms up
- Water staining, salt crusting or corroded pins in the connector
- Swollen or discoloured components seen inside a unit that has been opened

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Check supply voltage, earth and connector condition at the unit before condemning it - corroded pins produce the same symptoms as a dead module
- Electronic units of this kind normally need programming or configuring to the vessel after fitting, so allow for that in the job
