## ⚙️ Key Features

- Starter motor weighing 3.479 kg
- Listed for five applications
- Supersedes part number 23652950

## 🔌 Function

Turns the engine over to start it, the pinion throwing into the flywheel ring gear and cranking until the engine fires.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- A single click and no crank when the key is turned
- Slow, laboured cranking with a healthy, charged battery
- Grinding, or a whirring pinion that never engages
- Burning smell or hot cables at the starter terminals
- Brushes worn down, or the solenoid contacts found pitted on strip-down

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Check the battery, cables and earth straps before condemning the starter - voltage drop gives identical symptoms
- Inspect the flywheel ring gear teeth while the starter is out
- It supersedes 23652950, so the number stamped on an existing unit may not match the current one
