# 24049824 Heat Shield | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta heat shield for engines from serial number 70112029882 onwards, weighing 0.490 kg and listed for one TAD series application. It consolidates 21725017 and 22244172 - the same numbers replaced by brackets 24051140 and 24052305, so that old assembly is now three parts.

## 🚤 Compatibility

Typically suits:

- Volvo Penta TAD1170-72VE

- **Engine Family:** TAD
- **Serial Range:** SN70112029882-

## ⚙️ Key Features

- Heat shield for engines from serial number 70112029882 onwards
- 0.490 kg
- Listed for one TAD series application
- Consolidates 21725017 and 22244172
- The same two numbers are replaced by brackets 24051140 and 24052305, so the old assembly is now three parts

## 🔌 Function

Shields the components and hoses near the exhaust from radiated heat, keeping surface temperatures down and protecting anything routed alongside.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Scorched, hardened or discoloured hoses and looms behind the shield
- Rattle or buzz from a loose or cracked shield
- Shield found split at a fixing hole or corroded through
- Fixings worked loose or missing
- Heat damage appearing on a component that the shield should have covered

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- The two numbers this replaces are also covered by brackets 24051140 and 24052305, so order all three where the old assembly is being renewed
- Refit the shield with its original standoffs so the air gap is kept - a shield clamped flat conducts heat rather than blocking it
