# 24083658 Throttle Body | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta throttle body for the 6.2L Model - R, from the Inlet and Exhaust System group. That model designation is the detail that decides the order, so check it against your own engine before buying. No engine applications are recorded against the number, so match it to your engine's parts list as well.

## ⚙️ Key Features

- For the 6.2L Model - R
- Inlet and Exhaust System component
- No recorded engine applications, so order by part number and by the 6.2L Model - R designation

## 🔌 Function

Controls the volume of air entering the engine, opening and closing to match the airflow to the throttle demand.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Idle speed hunting, surging or refusing to settle
- Hesitation, a flat spot or a jerky response when the throttle is opened
- Throttle feeling notchy or sticking rather than moving smoothly
- Sooty or gummy deposits building up around the throttle plate and its bore
- Engine going into a reduced-power or limp condition, or a fault warning appearing

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Confirm the engine is the 6.2L Model - R before ordering, since throttle bodies for neighbouring variants look similar and will not calibrate correctly
- Check the inlet joints and hoses for air leaks before condemning the throttle body, as an unmetered air leak produces the same idle symptoms
- Renew the gasket or seal at the inlet face and follow the relevant relearn or adaptation procedure after fitting
