# 24165604 Propeller Kit | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta IPS propeller kit in PS4 dimension, listed for two D series applications. The PS range is a separate series from the P kits, so the full code matters. Part of the contiguous 24165591-24165605 kit block, all at identical list price $13,575.40 / approx EUR 15,268 - sibling 24165592 in this block is a P/PS-series counter-rotating set for IPS2/IPS20 pod drives.

## 🚤 Compatibility

Typically suits:

- Volvo Penta D11C2-A MP
- Volvo Penta D11C4-A MP

- **Engine Family:** D

## ⚙️ Key Features

- IPS propeller kit, Type P/PS range, PS4 dimension
- Complete kit - the matched front and rear propellers for one drive
- Listed for two D series applications
- The same dimension is also sold as separate front (24166274) and rear (24166294) kits

## 🔌 Function

Supplies the matched pair of counter-rotating propellers for one IPS drive. The two turn in opposite directions on the same axis, so their side loads cancel and the drive converts the engine's torque into straight-ahead thrust.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Vibration through the hull that gets worse as engine speed rises
- Boat slower to plane and needing more engine speed for the same speed over the ground
- Blade edges bent, chipped or curled after touching the bottom or hitting debris
- Rumbling or drumming from the drive under load
- Blade faces pitted or greyed and the leading edges rounded off when the boat is lifted

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Renew or repair the two propellers together - they are a matched pair and a new one against a damaged one will vibrate
- Look at the drive's propeller shaft seals and the flow deflector every time the propellers come off - fishing line at the hub cuts seals
- Weight is no guide across the IPS ranges - the published figures for the complete kits do not add up to the front and rear kits sold separately, so order by the dimension code and the engine application
