# 24189642 Wiring Harness | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta wiring harness from the Cables and Fuses group, with a published weight of 6.078 kg. It belongs to the same run of four consecutively numbered harnesses as 24189638, 24189639 and 24189640, all sharing one name and one group with no published variant, routing or connector detail to separate them. 24189640 carries no published weight, so the group cannot be ranked by mass, and no engine applications are published against any of the four — order strictly by part number.

## ⚙️ Key Features

- 6.078 kg
- Cables and Fuses group
- One of four consecutively numbered harnesses, 24189638 through 24189642
- No published engine applications, so the part number is the only reliable identifier

## 🔌 Function

Carries supply, earth and signal connections between the engine's electrical components as a single pre-terminated loom.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Instruments, sensors or actuators cutting out and returning as the engine vibrates
- Outer sleeving chafed, cracked or gone hard with heat
- Green or white corrosion inside the connector bodies
- Pins pushed back, bent or loose in the connector housing
- Insulation melted where the loom has rested against a hot surface

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- 24189640 in the same block has no published weight, so mass cannot be used to tell these four harnesses apart
- Confirm the harness number against the engine's own parts catalogue rather than judging by appearance
- Check the earth points and connector seals the old loom ran to while it is out

## 📦 Condition

- Genuine Volvo Penta part
