# 24509299 Hose | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta hose from the Inlet and Exhaust System group, weighing 0.175 kg. It supersedes 24005438, whose cost record lists 56 D series applications.

## ⚙️ Key Features

- 0.175 kg
- Supersedes 24005438
- 56 D series engine applications

## 🔌 Function

Carries air or gas between components, flexing where a rigid pipe cannot.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Softening or collapse under pressure
- Cracking at the clamped ends
- Rubber softened by oil contamination
- Air leak showing as reduced boost

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Fit hoses only to clean, sound spigots — take off old rubber, scale and corrosion, and renew the spigot or pipe if it is pitted, because no clamp will seal a rough sealing face
- Push the hose fully home so the clamp sits behind the bead or barb rather than over the end of the spigot, and fit new clamps whenever a hose is renewed
- Let the hose follow its natural bend with no kinks and no tension on either connection, clear of hot surfaces and moving parts, with chafe protection wherever it passes a bracket, edge or bulkhead
- Use the correct grade of hose for the duty, and clamp to the standard the installation demands — twin clamps are normal practice on seawater and fuel connections below the waterline
- Refill, vent and run the engine, then check every joint hot and cold and recheck the clamps after the first running period as the hose beds down
