# 3809090 Puller | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta puller 3809090, listed at 2.803 kg, and confirmed by Volvo's own special tools catalogue under that exact designation. The catalogue publishes no model applications against it, so it is ordered by tool number against the procedure rather than by engine. It consolidates two earlier numbers, 884994 and 9998849, one of which was catalogued simply as a tool, so this is workshop equipment rather than a service part fitted to the engine.

## ⚙️ Key Features

- 2.803 kg
- Designation confirmed as a puller in Volvo's special tools catalogue
- No model applications published against it — order by tool number
- Consolidates 884994 and 9998849

## 🔌 Function

Draws a tightly fitted component off its shaft or out of its bore under controlled load, without levering against the surrounding parts.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Centre screw thread galled or stiff to turn
- Legs or arms bent, spread or cracked
- Tip or pad chipped or rounded off
- Puller slipping off the component under load

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Keep the centre screw clean and greased and load it squarely, since a cocked puller damages what it is pulling
- This is a tool, not a fitted part: two older numbers now come as this one, so do not order 884994 or 9998849 as well
