## ⚙️ Key Features

- For TD730VE
- 10.64 kg
- 8 applications across TWD, TID, TD and TAD engines
- Inlet and Exhaust System group

## 🔌 Function

Uses exhaust energy to drive a compressor that raises the density of the induction air, so the engine can burn more fuel for the same swept volume.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Loss of power with black smoke and high exhaust temperature
- Siren-like whine or a rhythmic whistle that changes with load
- Blue smoke and oil consumption from a failed seal
- Shaft play felt when the wheel is rocked, or blade tip rub marks in the housing
- Oil in the charge air pipework or the cooler

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- At 10.64 kg this is a heavy item to handle and pack - check freight arrangements
- Always find out why the old unit failed before fitting a new one - oil supply, oil quality and a dirty air filter destroy turbochargers in that order
- Prime the new unit with clean oil, fit new oil feed and drain gaskets, and idle the engine before loading it
