## 🔌 Function

Draws oil from the sump to the pump inlet, holding a fixed route and clearance so the pickup stays submerged and the pump does not draw air.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Oil pressure low or fluctuating, especially when hot
- Oil pressure warning flickering under acceleration or on turns
- Pump cavitating, or a rattle on start-up
- Pickup screen blocked with sludge or debris
- Joint gasket blown or pipe cracked, letting the pump draw air

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- If your records show 862212, this is the current number
- The other suction pipe in this range, 3827526 at 0.907 kg, is nearly twice the weight and covers 5 applications on the same families, so check the shape against the pipe you removed
