# 3853757 Governor | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta governor listed under the Alternator, Charging, Electric Motor, Electric Drives group, weighing 0.066 kg and listed for only 3 applications. Note that the name and the group do not sit easily together - a 66 gram governor in the charging group is worth confirming against the illustration before ordering, and the three-application list is the narrowest in this run.

## 🚤 Compatibility

Typically suits:

- Volvo Penta 5.7GiIMDA
- Volvo Penta 5.7GiPMDA
- Volvo Penta 5.7GiPMDACE

## ⚙️ Key Features

- 0.066 kg
- Recorded under the Alternator, Charging, Electric Motor, Electric Drives group
- 3 applications - the narrowest list here
- Name and group do not agree, so confirm the illustration

## 🔌 Function

Regulates the output or speed of the unit it controls, holding it to the intended level as load and engine speed change.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Output or speed hunting, drifting or unstable
- Over- or under-regulation, with the controlled value out of range
- Unit not regulating at all after a period of use
- Burnt or discoloured connections at the unit
- Fault clearing when the unit is cold and returning when hot

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- The name and the recorded group disagree - confirm what the part actually is from the illustration for your engine before ordering
- Check the supply, earth and connections before replacing a regulating device; a poor earth mimics a failed unit

## 📦 Condition
