## ⚙️ Key Features

- For use in saltwater
- 2.155 kg
- 17 applications across TSK, DP and SX
- Marine Propulsion group

## 🔌 Function

Corrodes in place of the drive, giving up its own material to the seawater so the alloy castings, shafts and fasteners around it are left alone.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Anode wasted, thin or crumbling away
- Anode barely eaten at all, which means it is not bonded and is doing nothing
- White or pink corrosion blooming on the drive castings
- Paint blistering or lifting around fittings
- Fasteners and trim tabs pitting where the anode should be protecting them

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- The freshwater anode is 3857858, and at 0.531 kg it weighs a quarter of this one despite sharing the same 17 applications — the water the boat lies in decides which you fit, and getting it wrong leaves the drive unprotected
- Fit it to bare, unpainted metal and never paint over an anode, or it stops working entirely
- Renew it once about half the material has gone rather than waiting for it to disappear
