- Supersedes 3842137 and 3885929
- 3 applications on the TAD series

## 🔌 Function

Uses exhaust energy to drive a compressor wheel that forces additional air into the inlet, raising the power and efficiency of the engine.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Loss of power and heavy black smoke under load
- Whistling, siren or rattling noise from the turbo that rises with revs
- Oil in the inlet or exhaust and rising oil consumption
- Shaft with visible play or the wheel rubbing its housing
- Compressor or turbine blade tips chipped by debris

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Renew the oil feed and return lines and change the oil and filter before starting, since debris left in the system will destroy the new bearings
- Prime the turbo with oil and idle it before loading the engine
- Establish why the old turbo failed, as a blocked breather, blocked air filter or oil starvation will destroy the replacement too
