🔌 Function

  

The plate forms the lower running surface of the impeller chamber and helps the impeller maintain the seal needed to create cooling-water pressure.

  

Common signs of failure:

• Water pressure remains below specification

• Plate is warped, corroded or discoloured by heat

• Impeller shows uneven vane wear
