- Listed for 7 applications
- For TAMD and D series engines

## 🔌 Function

Sets and holds the gap between two mounted components so they sit at the correct spacing.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- The component it supports sitting proud, loose or out of line
- Spacer crushed, cracked or corroded through
- Bolt working loose because the clamped stack has settled
- Contact faces fretted or polished from movement

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Refit the spacer in the same position and the same way round as it came out; many spacers set an end float, an alignment or a preload and are not simply packing
- Never leave a spacer out, substitute plain washers for it, or stack washers to make up a missing one
- Keep the faces clean, flat and free of burrs and old sealant, and check the spacer itself for wear, scoring or having been drawn down out of shape
- Where several spacers or shims come out together, keep them in order and refit them in the same sequence
- Tighten the fastening to the figure given in the workshop manual for your engine, then check any clearance or end float the spacer controls
