# 866640 Bracket | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta bracket from the Engine group, weighing 5.879 kg and listed for 14 applications across TAMD series engines. It supersedes 864310, which was catalogued earlier under a Swedish name for the left-hand bracket, so an older list calling for the left-hand console at this position is pointing at this number.

## 🔌 Function

Carries and locates a major component against the engine, taking its weight and its vibration.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Cracks radiating from the mounting holes or along a weld
- The mounted component sagging or sitting out of alignment
- Bolt holes elongated and fasteners repeatedly working loose
- Fretting or bright rub marks between the bracket and the block

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Renew the mounting fasteners rather than reusing ones that have been working loose
- Check the block face and the mounted component for cracks while the bracket is off - at nearly six kilos it is carrying real load
