## 🚤 Compatibility

Typically suits:

- Volvo Penta AQD21A

- **Engine Family:** MD, AQD
- **Serial Range:** 12V, MO-3124096/XXXX

## ⚙️ Key Features

- 12 V
- For production order 3124096
- 0.084 kg
- Supersedes 870680

## 🔌 Function

Heats the combustion chamber before cranking so a cold engine will fire and run cleanly from the first turns.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Hard starting from cold, easy starting when warm
- White smoke and rough running for the first half minute
- Preheat lamp behaving abnormally or the circuit fuse blowing
- Plug tip swollen, blistered or burnt away on removal
- Open circuit or a short measured across the plug

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- This plug carries the production order 3124096 reference — check it against the engine build before ordering
- Test all the plugs rather than replacing one; a single failed plug usually means the others are at the end of their life too
- Free a seized plug carefully with penetrating oil and heat cycles — snapping one off in the head is a cylinder-head-off job
