## ⚙️ Key Features

- 43 applications
- Supersedes 841890, formerly catalogued as a switch
- Instruments group

## 🔌 Function

Watches temperature and changes state at its set point, driving the warning circuit so an overheat is signalled before damage is done.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Overheat alarm sounding with no rise in the gauge reading
- Alarm that never sounds even when the engine runs hot
- Warning lamp flickering with vibration
- Corrosion or weeping at the sensing thread
- Connector terminals green, loose or arced

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Because the number it replaces was listed as a switch, check the thread and terminal arrangement against what is on the engine before ordering
- Verify the actual temperature with a separate gauge before condemning the monitor, and never disable an overheat alarm to silence it
