## 🔌 Function

Keys the propeller to the shaft so that drive torque is taken through the key rather than by the taper alone.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

-   Propeller working loose on the shaft
-   Key sheared, burred or picked up on its flanks
-   Keyway damaged or spread in shaft or hub
-   Corrosion welding the key into the keyway
-   Vibration under way after the propeller has moved on the taper

## 🛠️ Service Notes

-   Measure the shaft - 25 mm takes 873474, 30 mm takes 873487, 35 mm takes this key and 40 mm takes 873505
-   The key is not supplied in the hub kit, so add it to the order with the propeller nut
-   Check both keyways for damage before refitting, and always renew the key after a propeller has come loose
