# 876136 Anode Kit | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta anode kit from the Marine Propulsion group, specified for use in fresh water, weighing 0.113 kg and listed for 23 applications on the AQ and B series. The fresh-water specification is the deciding detail - anode material is matched to the water the boat sits in, and the wrong material either passivates and stops working or wastes away far too fast.

## 🚤 Compatibility

- **Engine Family:** AQ, B

## ⚙️ Key Features

- For fresh water use
- 0.113 kg
- 23 applications on the AQ and B series

## 🔌 Function

Corrodes sacrificially so the galvanic current attacks the anode rather than the drive castings, shafts and fasteners around it.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Anode wasted to less than half its size
- Anode still bright after a season, meaning it is not earthing to the drive
- White powdery bloom or pitting on the alloy castings nearby
- Fixings seized or corroded so the anode sits loose

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Clean the seat to bare metal and never paint an anode - a painted or poorly seated anode protects nothing
- If the boat moves to salt water, change to the saltwater-specified anode for the position instead
