# 88820004 Puller | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta puller weighing 0.517 kg, one of a numbered run of workshop tools listed together here. It carries no engine application list of its own and is ordered by number against the procedure that calls for it.

## ⚙️ Key Features

- 0.517 kg
- Part of a numbered run of workshop tools listed together here
- No engine application list — ordered by part number
- Applies load through the tool rather than the component

## 🔌 Function

Draws a press-fitted component off its seat under controlled screw load, instead of levering or driving it.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Legs or jaws spread or bent under load
- Centre screw thread galled, stiff or seized
- Tip of the centre screw mushroomed or chewed
- Puller slipping off the component part way through a pull
- Cracks around the yoke or the leg pivots

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Check you have the right puller and the right adapters for the component before you start — a puller is sized to a job, and forcing an approximate fit is how both tools and parts get broken
- Set it up square and centred, use the correct centre pad or protecting cap so the thrust screw does not chew the shaft end, and take the legs up evenly so the load is shared
- Load it steadily by hand with a spanner; do not use an impact wrench and do not extend the bar for more leverage, which makes the legs jump off under load
- Take the pull on the strongest part of the component, never on a flange, fin, cover or web that will simply break away
- Keep the thread clean and greased, store it dry, and check the legs and thrust screw for bending, spread or thread damage before each use — stand clear of the line of pull while it is loaded
