## ⚙️ Key Features

- Genuine Volvo Penta closure
- Steering group
- Closes and seals an opening in the assembly
- No fitment or dimensions published against this number — check it against the parts list for your engine

## 🔌 Function

Closes an opening in the assembly, sealing it against leakage and keeping dirt and water out of what is behind it.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Hydraulic fluid weeping, a wet film or staining around the closure
- A falling fluid level in the steering system with no other leak found
- Spongy, lost or wandering feel at the wheel from air drawn in past a poorly sealed closure
- A closure that is cracked, corroded or distorted, or that will no longer pull up on its seat

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Fit with a new seal or O-ring onto a clean, undamaged seat — it is the seal and not the tightness that keeps the system sealed against leaks, air and water ingress
- Tighten to the figure in the workshop manual and no further; a closure pulled up hard distorts its seat and starts a weep rather than curing one
- Keep the opening covered and the surrounding area clean while the closure is off, since a steering circuit is intolerant of dirt and of air drawn into the fluid
- After fitting, bleed the system if the manual requires it, then work the steering from lock to lock and check the closure and its seat for weeping under load
