A genuine Quicksilver O-ring used on MerCruiser Bravo U-joint seal retainers and selected Mercury outboard propeller shaft bearing carriers. This is the current service replacement for 25-861844 and is used on Bravo drive upper seal retainer service, as well as Mercury 40HP to 60HP EFI and 75HP to 125HP DFI outboard bearing carrier applications where specified.

🔌 Function

  

The O-ring seals the U-joint seal retainer or propeller shaft bearing carrier depending on application. It prevents oil leakage and water intrusion around the retainer or carrier sealing surface.

  

Common signs of failure:

  

• Oil seepage around Bravo U-joint seal retainer

• Water intrusion into drive oil

• O-ring cut, flattened or hardened during service

• Failed gearcase pressure or vacuum test

• Replacement required during U-joint, upper seal or bearing carrier service
